AsureQuality is a commercial company 100% owned by the New Zealand government. We provide food safety and biosecurity services to the food and primary production sectors.

Every day our experienced team of 1700 experts works alongside customers like you, to assure the safety and quality of food being produced for millions of people worldwide. Our skilled staff and extensive accreditations enable us to audit, inspect, verify and certify food quality and management systems from the farm right to the supermarket shelf.
In today’s world, ever increasing levels of trade, tourism and business travel also carry risks. Many of our customers rely on us to help them detect, control and eradicate unwanted pests and diseases.
Business divisions
The business activities of AsureQuality are divided into two main operating groups - Operations, and Laboratories and Diagnostics.
Operations
Comprises of ante-mortem and post-mortem meat inspection, Tb and disease control activities, training, farm assurance audits, biosecurity surveillance and response, veterinary services and New Zealand-based audit, inspection, verification and certification services for cross-supply chain processing and production operations.
Laboratories and Diagnostics
Comprises food testing for pathogens, toxins, nutritional information and residues, routine and specialist chemical analyses, environmental characterisation, monitoring and investigations, industrial problem solving, product and food safety, projects and research, manufacture and distribution of animal health diagnostic products for domestic and international markets, and international audit, inspection, verification, and certification services.

Corporate history
We have been working with Australasia’s food and agricultural industries for over 100 years – and now deliver products and services to more than 40 countries. Our people are located in the agricultural heartlands across Australia and New Zealand, and span the entire food supply chain as well as all major primary industries.
AsureQuality was created on 1 October 2007 by the merger between ASURE New Zealand Limited and AgriQuality Limited. Both ASURE and AgriQuality were established out of the commercial activities of New Zealand's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) in late 1998. This heritage means that alongside its commercial focus, AsureQuality retains an awareness of issues of collective importance, and a connection with the regulatory environments within which it operates.
AsureQuality has grown steadily over recent years, and has made a number of strategic acquisitions to supplement its capabilities in both New Zealand and Australia. We are passionate about being the best at what we do. We're driven by a single-minded focus to add value to our customers' businesses, and guided by our desire to be the best partner in food safety and biosecurity.
