On-Farm Information Services
Our information systems and technology investments have been carefully designed to capture and manage food safety and biosecurity information at each stage of the supply chain. The strategy is clear - to develop a fully traceable quality assurance data capture and recall system that enables its customers to participate in the world's most lucrative markets.
What's more, we have enabled our network of information systems with state-of-the-art geospatial technology that interprets data to produce maps and reports that can be tailored to meet our customer's specific needs.
AsureQuality's information systems and geospatial and textual tools are used in biosecurity events to match property data with information on livestock, crops, forests and vineyards. This guarantees rapid identification and location of infected and at-risk properties and species to contain, minimise or prevent the spread of pests and diseases.
The sophisticated disease control management, traceability, epidemiological analysis and reporting functions within AsureQuality’s systems enable our team of scientists, epidemiologists and biosecurity response specialists to respond to incursions accurately and effectively.
AgriBase™ - Agricultural Information System
Initially developed in 1993 for the management of properties susceptible to foot and mouth disease, AgriBaseTM has grown over the years to provide a platform for traceability, biosecurity and emergency management to support national and regional policies and programmes that benefit rural New Zealand and primary sector industries.
AgriBase holds information on all types of rural properties such as farms, vineyards, orchards, forests, and small holdings and includes information about how to contact the individuals that own and manage them. Geospatial technology allows us to render information from AgriBaseâ (such as property location, size, management, operations, land use, stock numbers, homestead location, farm gate points and address points) into virtual features for display and geospatial analysis."
Using AgriBase™ For Farm Data
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialists are able to interpret the geospatial data stored on AgriBase™ to provide the following farm management data services:
- Farm mapping services - create maps detailing both farming and geographic features (eg. paddock location and identification information as well as land contours and waterways)
- Maximise the potential sustainable productivity of land
- Control livestock disease - report on stock movements to provide traceability and monitor disease vectors
- Environmental monitoring with catchments or other identifiable areas
- Forest health and animal health surveillance
