Independent Verification Agency (IVA) Export Inspection, Audit, Verification and Certification
Our forestry business is an Independent Verification Agency (IVA) and has Biosecurity New Zealand accreditation to undertake a wide range of field surveys, phytosanitary inspections and audits that producers need to gain access for their product to a number of export markets.
Export Inspection (Endpoint Inspection)
Wood products may need phytosanitary documentation to meet importing country requirements. If exporters are looking to send a shipment of timber, logs or wood-based products, but do not send regular shipments overseas, an inspection can be carried out before the product leaves New Zealand. Our Forestry Field Officers can inspect the product prior to certificate verification.
Phytosanitary Certification
In 2004, the Plants Market Access Council undertook a review of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's (MAF) Export Phytosanitary Certification system. In light of this review, a revised Phytosanitary Certification system for horticulture, arable seeds and forestry has been developed. These new standards are effective as of 1 June 2006 and are avaliable from the Biosecurity New Zealand website.
Export Certificate Verification
We are accredited by Biosecurity New Zealand as an Independent Verification Agency (IVA) to verify phytosanitary certificates, which confirm pest and disease freedom status. This service is delivered electronically via the MAF E-Cert programme, providing the final clearance in the onshore supply chain to ensure our forestry customers are able to meet importing country quarantine requirements.
Auditing
AsureQuality's Forestry specialists are accredited to carry out audits of organisations seeking approval to the Biosecurity Phytosanitary Certification Standards for the Phytosanitary, ISPM15, E-Cert and Treatment Operators.
