Testing for Plasticisers
AsureQuality offers plasticiser testing for foods, beverages, ingredients and raw materials.
What are plasticisers?
Plasticisers are a wide group of chemicals used in a variety of applications, perhaps the best known of which are to make plastics and rubbers more soft and pliable.
The plasticiser DEHP, also known as di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate and bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate, has been used to adulterate beverages, foods, ingredients and raw materials. It can also be present in low levels as a result of leaching from packaging materials.
