Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. AsureQuality is an independent contractor to Rainforest Alliance, and through its SmartWood programme conducts Forest Management (FM) and Chain of Custody (CoC) audits.
What are CoC audits and how do they benefit you?
Chain-of-Custody (CoC) certification helps your customers choose products that contribute to global conservation, community well-being and economic stability. FSC CoC certification is available to all companies that process or sell forest products. Organisations include sawmills, secondary manufacturers, broker/distributors, wholesalers, retailers, printers and paper merchants.
What are FM audits and how do they benefit you?
Forest management operations are audited to ensure that the principles and criteria for environmental, economic and social standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) are being meet, prior to being awarded certification. FM certification demonstrates that responsible practices are being met and gives recognisable credibility to your customers.
