Our team support Seed Merchants with chain of custody requirements for the MPI Seed Varietal Certification Scheme, from varietal listings through to OECD Seed Varietal Certificate issuance.

The Seed Certification Bureau administers the Seed Crop Isolation Distance (SCID) system to assist industry to meet seed production requirements by facilitating SCID bookings.

Seed Certification Information System

The Seed Certification Information System (SCIS) is an online system replacing the previous paper-based crop application and varietal certification process.

SCIS is used to:

  • maintain a register of varieties eligible for certification and to manage variety production rights (VPRs)
  • enter crops for certification
  • track seed crops through the various stages of planting, inspection, harvest and delivery, processing and testing
  • perform independent verification and Regulator (MPI) tasks
